THE CANAL DU MIDI
 

Donw by the cottage, the Canal du Midi offers an ideal environment for walks or bike rides. The canal is 240km long and goes from Toulouse to Sète, in the Mediterranean area. Join the path that connects Villedubert to Carcassone, passing by lovely Trèbes. A beautiful journey along the canal. 

 

Escape aboard barge cruise or during a boat trip and navigate following the flow of the canal (departure from Trèbes, Homps or Carcassonne).

Enjoy a fun and friendly moment, and discover the area by following the waves.

THE MEDIEVAL CITY
 

The medieval city of Carcassonne, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a preserved gem from the Cathar country. 

 

This city, still inhabited, is freely accessible day and night and offers a unique medieval atmosphere.

Enter through the Porte Narbonnaise and discover its castle and its ramparts, its cobbled streets with winding alleyss.

Stroll through shops and enjoy a regional typical dinner in one of its many cafes and restaurants. The medieval city lights up at night for a magical atmosphere.

THE CAVAYERE LAKE
 

The Cavayère lake is a leisure complex located in a natural environment which extends over more than 40 hectares, at the entrance of Carcassonne. 

​

Ideal location to take a walk and relax, you will find dedicated areas equipped for a picnic, pedal boats, inflatable water games, jet ski, wakeboarding, paddle, several beach volleyball courts, 3 supervised beaches in season as well as a tree climbing park for adventure lovers.

Caunes-Minervois, a medieval village with an italian touch, is famous for its red marble used at the Palace of Versailles.

Villeneuve-Minervois, surrounded by vineyards at the entrance of the Montagne Noire, is the land of truffles.

Minerve, nestled in the heart of the Languedoc garrigue, is a mineral village known and recognized for its wine.

 Lagrasse, classified among the 'Most beautiful villages of France', is a medieval gem to discover for its majestic abbey.

Montolieu, the village of Books and Arts, offers about fifteen antique book stores and the Museum of Arts and Crafts of Books. 

VINEYARDS & WINE AREAS
 

Discover unusual places and book a wine tasting experience at one of the nearby vineyards and wineries.

 

In Villemoustaussou, visit La Mijane wine estate or O'Vineyards, which will introduce you to the secrets behind wine production, followed by a wine tasting and dinner upon request.

 

In St-Frichoux, Domaine Pujol, 5th generation of winemakers, offers you a wine from the terroir with their AOP Minervois. 

 

The Château de Luc (Famille Fabre) offers exceptional wine tourism activities, and is located just 30 minutes by car.

THE MONTAGNE NOIRE
 

In the massif of the Montagne Noire, explore the secrets of an outstanding underground world.

 

The cave of Limousis is a visit not to miss. Discover its prehistoric grotto and treasure cave revealing an exceptional chandelier made up of millions of aragonite crystals, a geological treasure. 

 

The Cabrespine Abyss is one of the most beautiful caves in Europe. Dive into the nature immensity and admire the abyss from balconies 200m high. Possibility to explore the cave by sailing on the underground river or following an underground acrobatic route.

A DAY AT THE SEA
 

The beaches of Gruissan or Narbonne are 45 minutes away by car and each offers you a unique experience.

 

Gruissan will seduce you with its wild sand beaches, preserved nature, its fishing village and its authenticity.

 

Narbonne, a southern city bordered by the sea, offers beautiful large beaches for lounging, kite flying or walking around the marina. Take a detour to the Halles de Narbonne for a lunch break, a unique experience not to be missed!!

FESTIVAL OF CARCASSONE
 

The Carcassonne Festival takes place every summer in July in an exceptional setting: the Medieval City of Carcassonne. 

 

This unique Festival in France offers 120 shows, 80 being entirely free and are dispatched on 11 different stages in the heart of the medieval city. Come and enjoy a multitude of concerts by national and international artists.

 

This event is a true example of cultural diversity that has shaped the unique identity of this extraordinary festival.
